Vegeta was the only one never to show Ascended 2. Goku did it in the time chamber and said the whole thing about how he was super powerful but speed was really slowed thanks to the muscle gain. I think Ascended Super Saiyan 1 was still fast enough to outspeed 2nd stage Cell, thats why Vegeta stopped at that, he didnt need Ascended 2 which probably would have put him at around equal or less speed than 2nd stage Cell.
